dr. Zdeslav Hrepić was born and raised in Split, where he received his basic education in physics and pedagogical disciplines at the Polytechnic School for Teachers. After finishing his education, he spent two years working as a teacher of physics, computer science and technical education in a local school.
His deep ambition for further training directed him towards the best universities for the study of physics education in the world, especially in Germany and America. Despite not speaking German, he decided to apply to universities in the United States, where he received a prestigious scholarship to Kansas State University. With his partner, he embarked on that life and professional journey.
At Kansas State University, he obtained a master’s degree in physics and a doctorate in didactics of natural sciences. During his stay in America, Dr. Hrepić’s daughter Zrinka was born.
Determined in his desire to contribute to the academic community and continue his research work, Dr. Hrepić remained in the United States, working at different universities. Through his work at universities, he actively developed his work on the book.
Didactics became a key element of his academic career, enabling him to transfer his knowledge and experience in the field of education.
Although teaching physics has always been his primary interest, Dr. Hrepić pointed out that his love for spirituality has always been the basis of his research work. In addition to physics, he also showed interest in fields such as psychology, philosophy and Indology.
His passion for creating bridges between different fields of knowledge is reflected in his approach to education and research, and continues through his work today.
dr. Zdeslav Hrepić is the author of more than 70 scientific papers with international reviews, which deal with the methodology of physics, the application of educational technologies, active teaching strategies and the role of mental models in teaching and related topics.
This summer he permanently returned to Croatia with more than 20 years of experience in natural science education. He brings with him an unusual book that combines physics, psychology, metaphysics and life training in a unique way. In the book “Living Physics”, Zdeslav turns the laws of physics into transformative life metaphors.
Today he works as a physics professor in two schools on Brač and in Split. Through the promotion of his book, he spreads the philosophy that science, metaphysics and spirituality are not only complementary disciplines, but also necessary for the fulfilling life of modern man.
